Alaska fishing at it's best. Fishing in Alaska is good in general but fishing on Kodiak Island is some of Alaska's best fishing. Alaska saltwater fishing, Alaska freshwater fishing and Alaska fly fishing are all within easy reach of AlpenView.

 Freshwater Fishing
Fishing is the bread and butter activity at AlpenView. The streams draining into Ugak Bay offer great freshwater fishing for sockeye, silver, pink and chum salmon and dolly varden. AlpenView maintains a variety of boats to access these fisheries, the queen of which is the C/V FINLANDER. Both fly and conventional tackle are used throughout these fisheries and are provided to our guests. See our Fishing page for more information.

Guided Fly-out Fishing
The fly-out portion of the fishing program opens up many freshwater rivers and lakes on the Kodiak Archipelago. This provides some great fly fishing for salmon, rainbow trout and dolly varden. The fishing is world class and the flights themselves are exciting and beautiful. See our Fishing page for more information.

Take home fish
The lodge has a smoker, vacuum packer and a freezer so fish cleaning, freezing and/or smoking are available. Space is limited and so is mother nature so we ask that guests don't get carried away.

Don't want to fish all day, every day?
Other activities offered at AlpenView are designed to satisfy a broad range of interest. In this way we strive to be an entertaining destination for the whole family and/or group of friends. Some visitors to Alaska are driven by an interest in fishing, some by wildlife and others are interested in remote relaxation. Whatever your interests in visiting remote Alaska, the staff at AlpenView will do it's best to accommodate you.
