The Big, Big, Big, Really, Really, Big, Spring Steelhead Adventure

The 2007 spring steelhead experiment was a bg success. The fish were in beautiful condition and the catch rates were as good or better than the best fall steelheading weeks.
Clients Fritz Jorg, Pat Steed and Tim Longrich had all experience several fall steelheading trips with AlpenView. All agreed that the spring fish were every bit as exciting. They also enjoyed the long hours of daylight and the lack of biting insects.
Camp set-up crew included Dave Jones, Skip Woodward and Jacob Keplinger. Guest guide was Drew Shaffer.
Alaska Department of Fish and Game staffer Donn Tracy and US Fish and Wildlife staffer Mike Getman also visited the river for some prep work on the up-coming king salmon season. They both took a little time out for steelheading and had great success.
Catch highlights included a ten fish day for Dave Jones, a twelve fish day for Skip Woodward, two double figure days in a row for Pat Steed, and TWO EIGHTEEN FISH DAYS FOR TIM LONGRICH.
Fritz, Pat, Tim and friends are already signed up for another spring steelhead adventure in 2008!
